"I have found myself - I have found where I truly belong"

One of my favorite pieces
I was born in Nam Sách, Hải Dương, Vietnam, into a family rooted in patriotism and revolutionary tradition. My father, a devoted teacher, nurtured in me a lifelong love of learning, compassion, and a deep affection for my homeland, humanity, and all living beings.
My childhood was marked by hardship and challenges, yet it was through those very trials that I developed resilience, inner strength, and faith in the goodness of life. Although my family did not follow any particular religion, from an early age, I was drawn to profound questions about the soul, energy, and the mysterious laws of the universe.
Driven by a longing to understand realms beyond the physical world, I found my spiritual path in Buddhism — a faith close to my daily life and heart. At first, I dreamed of becoming a monastic, but through years of meditation and practice, I came to realize that:
“True cultivation is not confined to the temple — it is in every breath, every joy and sorrow of life, where we keep our heart at peace, untouched by the outside world.”
From that realization, I chose the path of “living meditation” — bringing mindfulness into every stroke of life and every brush of ink.
Since childhood, I have shown a natural gift for painting and a deep love for colors. Yet, due to my family’s modest circumstances, my father encouraged me to pursue a more stable career. Still, the flame of art never faded; it quietly burned within my heart.
After completing high school and moving to Hanoi for university, I finally regained my freedom to follow my true calling. I picked up the brush once again, pouring my soul into paintings that reflect the beauty I perceived — of life, the human spirit, and the vast universe.
By chance, I discovered calligraphy — at first merely a curiosity, but soon it became a profound artistic and spiritual awakening. Through the flowing strokes of words, I met fellow artists and kindred spirits devoted to beauty and goodness. In that space, I realized:
“I have found myself — I have found where I truly belong.”
Since then, painting, calligraphy, and spirituality have become the sacred refuge of my soul — a place where I channel my sincerity, compassion, and peace into every stroke and every painting, sharing light and love with all beings.
